To join the APS Wikipedia Initiative, you must have a Wikipedia user account and be logged in to Wikipedia. This will allow you to create new articles (pages), upload images, and rename pages. You will also have access to special features enabling you to keep track of articles that you are editing, bookmark other interesting pages, and interact with others editing the same articles and become a trusted member of the community.
It is easy to create a Wikipedia account and you are not required to provide any personal information:
- Click the "Create Wikipedia Account" button below: this will open a new window with a Wikipedia create account page
- Create your unique Username
- Enter a password
- Click create account (Please note that if you enter an optional e-mail address, you will receive an activation e-mail from Wikipedia. You must follow the instruction in that e-mail before registering with the APSWI.)
Once you have created a Wikipedia account (or logged into Wikipedia if you already have an account), return to this page and click the "Register with APSWI" button below to move on to the next step of the registration process.
